Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has increased to a moderate level since the last message. The largest event in the period was an M3.7 flare at 12:42 UT today (11/18), produced by the limb target region (S06E73, still unnumbered). This limb region was also the source of another four M-class flares (M1.0, M1.7, M1.3, and M2.5) and several C-class flares in the period. At this time, we are implementing the Major Flare Watch campaign with the southeast limb region. Additionally, two regions near the southwest limb, NOAA 13897 (S12W54) and 13889 (S09W78), also produced several C-class flares and an M1.6 flare in the period. Further M-class flares are expected, with a chance of >M5 flares from the limb regions in the next 24-48 hours.
The approximate position of the target on 18-Nov-2024 at 12:30 UT is:
S06E73, ( -924", -113" )
