Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is now at a moderate-to-low level. The largest event since the last message was a C9.0 flare at 16:59 UT yesterday (11/19), produced by the target region NOAA 13901 (S08E44). This region retains a beta-gamma magnetic configuration and produced a C8.0 flare plus another four C-class flares in the period. The Major Flare Watch shall remain in effect with NOAA 13901 for a further 24 hours due to a slight chance of an >M5 flare. Additionally, regions near the southeast limb, e.g. NOAA 13897 (S10W82), have remained active and produced several C-class flares during the period.
The position of NOAA 13901 on 20-Nov-2024 at 12:30 UT is:
S08E44 (-669",-161")
