MM#003 Major Flare Watch
Dear Collaborators,
The southwestern limb target that was the source of the X2.2 event yesterday did not produce any noteworthy events in the past 24 hours. The target will switch back to the large active region complex (NOAA regions 2993 and 2994). 2993 was the source of a strong M9.6 event at 04/21/01:59 UT. The flare location was in mixed polarity just north of the large leading sunspot. 2994 has mixed polarity located within its intermediate portion. Both regions are maintaining E-type/beta-gamma sunspot groups. Additional M-class events likely with the chance of a major flare =>M5 in the next 24 hour period..
The position of NOAA 2993/2994 on April 21 at 10:45 UT is: N18E20 (Solar X = -312", Solar Y = 371")
