Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a low level. NOAA region 11818 has maintained spot area and decreased in number of spots as it rotates towards the West limb, producing 2 C-class events since yesterday's message (the largest being a C1.6 flare on 20-Aug-2013 at 09:57 UT). This region is now classified by NOAA as an alpha/H-type sunspot group, but may still contain the remnants of the delta spot on the northern edge of the leading spot. NOAA region 11820 has undergone a period of rapid flux emergence over the past 24 hours, growing significantly in both spot area and number of spots, as well as developing a mixed polarity intermediate spot region. C-class events are likely in the following 24 hours, particularly if 11820 continues to emerge new flux.
The position of NOAA 11820 on 20-Aug-2013 at 13:00 UT is:
S12W26, ( 411", -297" )
