NOAA region 11401 has maintained spot area, number of spots and a
beta/E-type sunspot group class. This region continues to produce
C-class events, the largest being a C7.1 flare on 22-Jan-2012 at
02:32 UT. More C-class activity is expected in the next 24 hours,
with a chance for an M-class event.

NOAA regions 11401 and 11402 appear to be in decay phase, showing
some fragmentation with decreasing area and number of spots. Both
regions are classed as beta sunspot groups, producing low C-class
activity since yesterday's message. The primary target changes to
NOAA 11402, due to NOAA 11401 decreasing in complexity. Observers
are once again encouraged to include the trailing spots of 11401
in the field-of-view if at all possible. Further C-class activity
is expected, with a chance for another M-class event in the next
24 hours.

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
NOAA region 11401 has maintained a beta-gamma/E-type sunspot group
classification while growing in both spot area and number of spots.
This region has significantly mixed flux around its trailing spots,
but neighbouring region NOAA 11402 was the source of the M3.2 flare
on 19-Jan-2012 at 13:44 UT. Today's target is primarily NOAA 11401,
due to the increased flux mixing and complexity. However, observers
are encouraged to include NOAA 11402 in the field-of-view if at all
possible. Further C-class activity is expected, with a chance of an
M-class event. A remote chance exists for a low X-class flare in the
next 24 hours if the trailing spots of 11401 undergo flux emergence.

NOAA region 11401 has continued to be flare productive, being the
source of several C-class events and an M1.7 event on 18-Jan-2012
at 19:04 UT (now a total of 2 M-class flares from 11401 in as many
days). This region has maintained spot area, number of spots, and
a beta-gamma/E-type sunspot group classification. Further C-class
activity is expected, with a possibility of another M-class event
in the next 24 hours. There is also a small chance for an isolated
low X-class event if the region undergoes flux emergence.

Several new regions have appeared on disk including NOAA regions
11401 and 11402 that are most likely the return of previous NOAA
regions 11383 and 11384, respectively. NOAA 11401 has produced
several C-class flares and an M1.4 flare on 14-Jan-2012 at 13:14
UT. Further C-class events are expected, with a small chance for
another M-class event in the next 24 hours.

complexity and is now classified as a beta/D-type sunspot group.
This region was the source of an H-alpha flare on 13-Jan-2012 at
16:54 UT and a C2.1 flare on 14-Jan-2012 at 03:19 UT. Further
C-class activity is probable.

NOAA 11393 has completely rotated over the West limb. New
region NOAA 11396 has shown quite rapid growth in the past
24 hours. However, the new target will be NOAA 11391 which
has shown previous C-class activity (including a C2.2 flare
on 13-Jan-2012 at 06:01 UT). Further C-class events are
possible.
