Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
The level of solar activity is moderate. Yesterday's target region
at the North East limb has not yet rotated onto the visible disk to
be assigned a number by NOAA. This region has produced many C-class
flares since yesterday's email and an M3.4 flare on 21-Aug-2014 at
13:19 UT. This region is strong in 3MK Ca XV emission (as reported
by NSO Sacramento Peak), indicating the potential for major flares.
At this point we are *not* initiating an MM#003 Major Flare Watch
as the magnetic complexity of the region is unknown, but this will
continue to be monitored. Further C-class activity is expected over
the next 24 hours, with a good chance for more M-class activity.

Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a low level. NOAA 12146 (an alpha/H-type sunspot
group) was the only numbered active region that showed signs of growth
over the past 24 hours, but was otherwise unremarkable. Meanwhile, the
other numbered regions all showed signs of decay. A new region beyond
the North East limb produced 2 C-class flares since yesterday's email,
including the largest event of the period (a C4.9 flare on 20-Aug-2014
at 12:38 UT). This region is not the return of a previously numbered
NOAA region, as STEREO-B EUV imaging indicates it only emerged in the
past 2 days. Further C-class activity is possible over the following
24 hours, with a small chance for a low M-class flare.

The level of solar activity remains low. NOAA region 12147 has produced
several B-class flares since yesterday's C1.8 flare (on 18-Aug-2014 at
13:37 UT), but has decreased in magnetic complexity by being classified
as an alpha/H-type sunspot group. NOAA 12139 has continued in its decay,
decreasing in area, number of spots and losing its polarity mixing to be
classified as a beta/C-type sunspot group. However, this region was the
source of the largest event since yesterday's message (a C1.2 flare on
18-Aug-2014 at 16:47 UT). Further C-class activity is possible over the
next 24 hours, with a very small chance for an isolated low M-class flare.

Solar activity is at a low level. NOAA regions 12146 and 12147 recently
rotated over the East limb and both produced C1.8 flares in the past 24
hours (from 12146 on 17-Aug-2014 at 19:41 UT; from 12147 on 18-Aug-2014
at 13:37 UT). NOAA 12139 has shown signs of decay by decreasing in area,
number of spots and now being classified as a beta-gamma/C-type sunspot
group. This region has not produced any noteworthy activity in the past
24 hours, but has maintained some small opposite polarity spots in close
proximity to the primary leading spots. More C-class activity is possible
over the next 24 hours, with a small chance for an isolated low M-class
flare.

The level of solar activity is low. Three active regions (NOAA
12139, 12141 and 12144) are now classified as beta-gamma/D-type
sunspot groups, but only 12139 and 12144 produced flares in the
past 24 hours. The largest magnitude event in this period was a
B8.4 flare from NOAA 12139 on 17-Aug-2014 at 00:10 UT. Further
B-class activity is expected, with C-class flaring possible and
a small chance for an isolated low M-class flare.

Solar activity is at a low level. NOAA 12139 has emerged new magnetic
flux in its intermediate portion over the past 24 hours, increasing
in spot area and number of spots. This region is now classified as a
beta-gamma/D-type sunspot group, but shows signs of a weak delta spot
configuration in high-resolution images. 12139 has increased in flare
productivity, being the source of 2 low C-class events since the last
message (the largest being a C1.5 flare on 15-Aug-2014 at 21:46 UT).
Further C-class activity is probable over the next 24 hours, with a
very small chance for a low M-class event if NOAA 12139 continues to
emerge new magnetic flux.

coverage over the past 24 hours, but has merged several spots within its
trailing portion. This region is classed as a beta/D-type sunspot group,
has increased in B-class flare productivity since the last message, and
produced a C1.1 flare on 15-Aug-2014 at 11:54 UT. Yesterday's target has
now been designated as NOAA 12141 and has continued to emerge new flux
and produce B-class flaring. Further B-class activity is expected over
the next 24 hours, with a chance for some low-to-mid C-class flares.

Solar activity continues to be at a low level. NOAA 12139 has not grown
in spot area over the past 24 hours, but has increased in number of spots
(primarily in its intermediate portion). This region is still classified
as a beta/D-type sunspot group and produced the largest flare event since
the last message (a B6.3 flare on 14-Aug-2014 at 04:18 UT). A new region
emerging in the North East quadrant has also produced B-class flares and
recently formed several spots, so this emerging region is the new target.
More B-class activity is expected over the next 24 hours, with a chance
for a low-to-mid C-class flare.

trailing spots. This region has remained classified as a beta/D-type
sunspot group, but may still have small scale magnetic mixing within
its intermediate portion. NOAA 12139 produced the largest event since
the last email, a B7.4 flare on 13-Aug-2014 at 11:08 UT. More B-class
activity is expected over the next 24 hours, with a chance for a low
C-class flare.

This region displays the characteristics of a beta/D-type sunspot group,
but may have small scale magnetic mixing in its intermediate portion
(i.e., potentially a beta-gamma classification). 12139 has continued to
be the source of B-class activity, producing two flare events since the
last email. Further B-class activity is expected over the next 24 hours,
with a chance for a low-to-mid C-class flare.
