Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has been at a moderate-to-low level in the last 24 hours. The largest event was an M1.0 at 13:39 UT yesterday from NOAA 14202 (alpha/H-type, S15E54). To the southwest of 14202, the target region NOAA 14197 produced three ~C4 flares yesterday. It has increased the spot area to 600 μh and has been designated as a beta-gamma/E-type, with mixed polarity in its intermediate portion. Today, 14197 shall continue as the target. In addition, NOAA 14199 (beta/C-type, N04E52) also produced four mid-to-high C-class flares, with its largest being a C7.5 at 23:57 UT yesterday. More C-class flares are expected, with a chance for another M-class flare in the next 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 14197 on 27-Aug-2025 at 11:30 UT is:
S17E34 (-509", -369")
