Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity continues to be at a low level. The largest event since the last message was a C5.0 flare at 03:51 UT today produced by NOAA 14143 (N23W08). 14143 also produced four ~C1 flares and was designated as a beta/C-type region. Note that another region NOAA 14142 produced five ~C2 flares during the period and has been designated as a beta-gamma/D-type region. It continues showing new magnetic flux emergence. Today we will switch the target to this region. Yesterday's target NOAA 14139 (N22W39) was flare quiet over the past 24 hours, although it has a complex beta-delta/D-type configuration. Only C-class flares are expected in the following 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 14142 on July 16 at 15:30 UT is:
N01E26 (-415", -50")
