Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has decreased to a moderate level since the last message. Target region 13780 (S10W16) was the most flare-productive region in the period, being the source of eight mid-to-high flares and three low M-class flares, including the largest magnitude in the period - an M1.6 flare at 05:23 UT today. 13780 gained a delta spot and is now classified as a beta-gamma-delta/F-type sunspot group, with an area of 1200 MSH. The Major Flare Watch shall remain in effect with NOAA 13780. Additionally, NOAA 13782 (N03E21, beta/E-type) produced an M1.2 flare yesterday. Further low M-class activity is expected, with a chance of >M5 flares in the next 24-48 hours.
The position of NOAA 13780 on 11-Aug-2024 at 11:30 UT is:
S10W16 (257",-265")
