Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity remains at an intermediate level. Several flares were produced in the last 24 hours, the largest being an M1.2 from NOAA 14232 at 02:15 UT today. There are now two active regions on the disk that are classified as beta-gamma-delta regions. These are NOAA 14230 and NOAA 14236 respectively. As NOAA 14230 is surrounded by several other active regions and is in an area of substantial emerging flux, this will become the primary target region. However, attention should also be paid to the larger of the two regions, NOAA 14236. Given this occurrence, the MFW will be sustained for a further 24 hours due to the increased probability of a large flare. Additional M-class activity is likely, with a chance for an isolated >M5 event in the next 24-48 hours.
The position of NOAA 14230 on 01-October-2025 at 11:30 UT is
S11W44, (655", -261") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
