Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has increased to a mid-M level since the last message. The largest event, an M4.2 flare at 02:21 UT today, came from NOAA 13766 (beta/C-type, S07E21) which has displayed separation of its main spots and emerged new spots in the period. The target region NOAA 13762 produced an M3.1 flare at 05:12 UT plus an M2.0 flare at 10:16 UT today. 13762 has also emerged new spots in its leading portion, with a beta-gamma-delta/F-type magnetic configuration. Today 13762 should remain with the target region due to its higher magnetic complexity. Further C-class activities are expected with a good chance for more low-to-mid M-class flares from the two regions in the following 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 13762 at 11:30 UT on 27-Jul-2024 is:
S12W27 (420", -274")
