Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity remains at a low level. The largest event since the last message was a C5.9 flare at 09:17 UT today produced by NOAA 14136 (N19W35). 14136 has been designated as a beta-gamma/C-type configuration, with increasing the sunspot area significantly. This region also produced another two C1.3 flares today. The target region NOAA 14142 was the source of eight ~C2 flares during the period. It remains a beta-gamma/ D-type sunspot group. Today we will continue to watch this region. Additional C-class flares are expected from various regions including NOAA 14142 and 14136 in the next 24-hour period.
The position of NOAA 14142 on July 17 at 11:30 UT is:
N01E14 (-229", -56")
