MM#009 Default Target
Dear Collaborators,
The current visible solar disk is spotless and plageless with an increase in the level of activity not expected anytime soon. The northeastern polar filament disappeared since the last message. The new target will be a large prominence located on the southeastern limb.
The approximate position of the target on October 17 at 06:15 UT is: S44E84 (Solar X = -689", Solar Y = -673")
See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
Regards,
Bill Marquette (Helio Research)
