Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity continues to decrease to a low level. The largest event since the last message was a C1.4 flare at 10:57 UT today from NOAA 14117. This region retained a beta/D-type magnetic configuration, with an increase in its sunspot area. To the southeast of 14117, NOAA 14118 (S14E29) also displayed visible magnetic flux emergence to become a beta/C-type group. Yesterday’s target NOAA 14114 only produced a C1.3 flare. Today, we shall end the Major Flare Watch campaign, and the default target shall switch to NOAA 14117 (with NOAA 14118 in the field of view). More C-class activity is expected in the following 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 14117 on 22-June-2025 at 11:30 UT is
S15E16 (-252", -274")
