Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has increased significantly since the last message due to NOAA 13380 doubling in size and increasing in complexity. It is now classified as a beta-delta region and has produced six M-class flares today including an M3.6 at 06:28 UT. At this time we are implementing a Major Flare Watch campaign with NOAA 13380 as the new target region due to the increased likelihood of an M5 flare or greater over the next 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 13380 on 1-Aug-2023 at 11:30 UT is:
S10W46, ( 671", -228" )
See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
