Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has decreased to a low level since the last message. The largest event in the period was a C6.2 flare at 09:24 UT today, produced by a spotless region NOAA 13951 (S15W46, beta/B-type), which also produced two additional low C-class flares in the period. The target region NOAA 13947 (N12W27) remains the most flare- productive region during the period, although it was downgraded to a beta-gamma region. 13947 produced seven C-class flares in the period, including a C5.0 flare. Today, NOAA 13947 shall remain the target region. Further C-class activity is expected, with a chance for an isolated low M-class flare in the following 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 13947 on 10-Jan-2025 at 08:30 UT is:
N12W27 (434",263")
