Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has increased to an intermediate level since the last message. The largest event was a C6.6 flare at 21:04 UT yesterday from a region between NOAAs 14224 (beta-gamma/D-type, S13W15) and 14223 (alpha/A-type, S17W14). To the east of 14223, NOAA 14217 produced six low-C flares, with its largest being a C2.7 at 21:27 UT yesterday. 14217 retains a beta/E-type sunspot group, with the emergence of new spots. Today, the target shall switch to NOAA 14217. Yesterday’s target, NOAA 14220 (beta-gamma/E-type, S18W62) was merely the source of a C2.3 flare at 17:01 UT yesterday. Additional low-C activity is expected in the following 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 14217 on 22-Sep-2025 at 11:30 UT is:
S17W26 (402", -379")
