Dear Collaborators,
The level of solar activity is moderate. Yesterday's target region has now been designated as NOAA 13723, and was classified as a beta/D-type sunspot group. This region was still located significantly towards the East limb at the start of the UT day, so this classification might not be totally accurate. NOAA 13723 produced two C-class flares since the last message, with some low M-class activity produced by NOAA regions 13712 (beyond the South West limb) and 13713 (at the South West limb). The MM#003 Major Flare Watch will continue for another 24 hours with NOAA 13723 as the target while its development is tracked. Additional high C-class flares are expected over the following 24-hour period, with a chance for another M-class flare.
The position of NOAA 13723 on 24-Jun-2024 at 15:30 UT is:
S18E58 , ( -762", -310" )
