Dear Collaborators,
The level of solar activity remains extremely low. One of the weak flux regions in the Southern hemisphere has developed pores in its leading and trailing polarities since the last message. However, no significant flares have occurred. No change in flaring activity is expected in the next 24 hours. The Max Millennium Program continues supporting the coordination of observations for the 7th perihelion passage of PSP that is now at the stage where it's orbiting faster than solar rotation. The target region follows the model-consensus magnetic-footpoint of PSP that remains located in the North East quadrant.
The approximate position of this region on 15-Jan-2021 at 23:00 UT is:
N31E18 , ( -259", 567" )
See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
