MM#009 Default Target
Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at an extremely low level and is expected to continue at an extremely low level for the next 24 hours. The visible solar disk is currently spotless and plageless. The target filament almost entirely disappeared since the last message but has now reappeared. Old quiescent filaments including those located in polar zones (polewards of 40 degrees latitude) tend to slowly disappear and then reappear a few times during their lifetime.
The position of the target on May 01 at 06:45 UT is: N47W06 (Solar X = 068", Solar Y = 744")
See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
Regards,
Bill Marquette (Helio Research)
