Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has decreased slightly since the last message. The largest event during the period was an M1.2 flare at 11:09 UT today from NOAA 14345 (S16E17, beta/C-type), located near the target region NOAA 14341 (S11E10). 14341 has been flare-quiet since yesterday’s X1.9 flare, but this region has evolved into a beta-gamma-delta magnetic configuration with ongoing flux emergence. Today, we will extend the Major Flare Watch with NOAA 14341 for the next 24 hours. Further C-class activity is expected, with a chance for >M5 flares in the next 24-48 hours.
The position of NOAA 14341 on 19-Jan-2026 12:30 UT is:
S11E10 (-166",-104")
