Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has reduced since the last message. The largest flares of the last 24 hours were both C4.5 flares, from NOAA 13977 and NOAA 13981 at 00:49 UT and 02:33 UT today, respectively. NOAA 13981 has begun its progression over the northwest limb, the region still shows signs of emerging flux in short wavelengths, but may have diminished in area. At this time, we are ending the Major Flare Watch but persisting with NOAA 13981 as the target region. Further C-class activity is likely in the next 24 hours with a slight chance for an isolated M-class event in the next 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 13981 on 09-February-2025 at 12:30 UT is:
N08W63, (859", 184") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
