Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has been at intermediate levels for the past
24 hours. The largest event since the last message was a
C9.1 flare at 23:53 UT on 12-May-2023 from NOAA 13296.
13296 was still the most flare-productive region that remains
a beta-gamma/E-type configuration, although it continues
decreasing in the sunspot area and the number of spots.
Yesterday’s target NOAA 13294 (beta/C-type) has been
quiescent with magnetic signs of decay. Today we shall end
the Major Flare Watch campaign and the default target shall
switch back to NOAA 13296. Please note that some other
active regions (NOAA 13305, 13297, 13293, 13304, 13302)
also produced several low C-class flares in the period. Further
high C-class activities are expected from various regions in
the following 24-hour period with a chance for an M-class flare.

Solar activity continues at moderate levels for the past 24 hours.
The largest event since the last message was an isolated M1.8
flare at 18:13 UT on 11-May-2023 from NOAA 13294. This region
retains a beta/C-type configuration and remains the sunspot area
and the number of spots. Yesterday’s target NOAA 13296 (N15W70,
beta-gamma/E-type) was only the source of multiple C-class flares
and it shows magnetic signs of decay. Today the Major Flare Watch
region shall switch to NOAA 13294. Further low-M flares are likely
in the next 24-48 hours, with a small chance of an above M5 flare.

Solar activity has been at high-to-moderate levels for the
past 24 hours. The largest event since the last message
was an M2.2 flare at 14:11 UT on 10-May-2023 from the
target region NOAA 13296. Although this region has been
classified as a beta-gamma/E-type configuration, it increased
in the sunspot area and the number of spots, which remains
the most flare-productive. Today the Major Flare Watch region
shall remain NOAA 13296. In addition, NOAA 13294 (S07W40,
beta/C-type) also produced an M2.2 flare at 08:47 UT today.
Further low-M flares are probable in the next 24-48 hours,
with a chance of an above M5 flare.

Solar activity remains high in the past 24 hours. The target
region NOAA 13296 was the source of two M-class flares
(M4.3 at 05/09/18:20 UT and M5.0 at 05/09/20:32 UT), which
has increased in magnetic complexity and been classified
as a beta-gamma-delta/E-type sunspot group. This region
is continuing to develop and is likely to remain flare productive.
13296 shall remain the target with the Major Flare Watch in
effect. Further low-M flares are probable in the next 24-48 hours,
with a chance of an above M5 flare.

Solar activity has increased in the past 24 hours. The largest
event since the last message was an M6.5 flare at 03:42 UT
today produced by the target region NOAA 13296. This region
was also the source of 3 low M-class (M2.3, M1.3, and M1.4)
flares and it has been classified as a beta-gamma/E-type
configuration, with increasing sunspot area and number of
sunspots. Therefore, we are implementing the Major Flare Watch
campaign at this time. Further low M-class flares are probable
in the next 24-48 hours, with a chance of an above M5 flare.

Solar activity has reached intermediate levels since the last message.
The target region NOAA 13296 was the source of two M1 flares (M1.5
at 05/07/21:40 UT and M1.6 at 05/07/22:53 UT) and also multiple
C-class flares. This region was the most productive and retains its
beta/E-type configuration, with mixed polarities in its leading portion.
13296 shall continue as the target region, but if possible, please also
include NOAA 13297 (N08E03, beta/E-type) in your field of view, which
produced a C3.1 flare at 05:05 UT today. Further low M-class flares
are probable in the next 24-48 hours.

Solar activity has diminished since the last message, with sporadic
C-class flares emanating from multiple active regions. NOAA 13296
remains unchanged in terms of size and complexity as it crosses the
central meridian and shall continue as the target region. Further
C-level activity likely over the next 24 hours.

M1.2 flare at 15:18 UT yesterday. The region retains its anti-Hale
beta configuration but appears to be in decay. NOAA 13296 shall
continue as the target region with further C-level activity likely
over the next 24 hours.

The past 24 hours has seen a resurgence of C-level activity from NOAA
13288, which is now beyond the southwest limb. NOAA 13293 has shown
significant signs of decay, while NOAA 13296 has continued to develop
and was the source of an M2.1 flare at 07:30 UT today. NOAA 13296
retains its anti-Hale beta/D-type configuration and shall be the new
target region, although we shall end the Major Flare Watch campaign at
this time. Further low M-class flares possible over the weekend.

Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity remains high with M-level activity emanating from two
separate regions in the northeast quadrant; NOAA 13293, which retains
its beta-delta configuration and NOAA 13296, which has an anti-Hale
beta configuration and produced an M3.9 flare at 08:05 UT today. Both
regions are continuing to develop and are likely to remain flare
productive. NOAA 13293 shall remain the target region with a Major
Flare Watch in effect, but also include NOAA 13296 in your field of
view if possible.
