MM#009 Default Target
Dear Collaborators,
The visible solar disk is spotless, plageless, and nearly featureless. The current conditions of a deep solar minimum will continue for an extended period. The target filament located in the southern polar zone has almost entirely disappeared. The small remaining segment will continue to be the default target.
The position of the target on August 28 at 06:30 UT is: S46W08 (Solar X = 092", Solar Y =-761")
See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
Regards,
Bill Marquette (Helio Research)
