Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has remained at a moderate level since the last message. The largest event was an M4.5 at 05:09 UT today from NOAA 14197. This region has developed a delta configuration to be classified as a beta-delta/E-type sunspot group, with the emergence of significant magnetic fluxes. Yesterday’s target numbered as NOAA 14199 (beta/D-type, N05E63), has also produced four low-M flares, with its largest magnitude being an M3.3 flare at 00:22 UT today. Today, the target will switch back to 14197, due to its high magnetic complexity and dynamic sunspot behaviour. Further C-class activity is expected, with a good chance for more M-class flares from these two regions over the coming days.
The position of NOAA 14197 on 26-Aug-2025 at 11:30 UT is:
N17E48 (-676", -351")
