Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity returns to a low level. NOAA 14168 produced several flares, the largest being an M1.2 at 02:00 UT today. NOAA 14167 has reduced in apparent complexity and size, however we note that this region is also positioned at the northwestern limb and subject to projection effects. NOAA 14168 remains classified as a beta-gamma-delta and continues to show signs of increased sunspot dynamism. Given the location and sustained activity from this region, NOAA 14168 will be the new target region for the next 24 hours. Additional C- and M-class activity is anticipated.
The position of NOAA 14168 on 05-August-2025 at 11:30 UT is
N05W04, (65", -17") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
