Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has reached a high-M level, due to a long-duration M6.8 flare at 03:54 UT today produced by the target region NOAA 13559. This region also produced an M1.3 plus several C-class flares. It maintains its magnetic complexity with a beta-gamma/F-type configuration, although it rotates towards the North West limb. The target shall continue as NOAA 13559, but we are implementing a Major Flare Watch campaign at this time because of the increased possibility of another >M5 flare within the following 24-48 hours.
The position of NOAA 13559 on 29-Jan-2024 at 08:30 UT is:
N26W75 (846", 447")
