MM#003 Major Flare Watch
Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
Target region NOAA 2036 was the source of a major two-ribbon proton flare with an associated CME. The x-ray event peaked at M7.3 at 04/18/13:03 UT. 2036 has decayed following the event but is still maintaining its beta-gamma magnetic configuration. At this time we are implementing Max Millennium coordinated observing plan #003 (Region Likely To Produce A Major Flare). There is a chance that 2036 might produce another event =/>M5 in the next 24-48 hours.
The position of NOAA 2036 on April 18 at 11:30 UT is: S15W35 (Solar X = 531", Solar Y = -176")
See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
