Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity remains at an intermediate level. A large number of flares have been produced since the last message, the largest being an M3.0 from NOAA 13981 at 10:01 UT today. NOAA 13976 and the surrounding active regions have produced significant activity over the last 24 hours. However, while they still show strong emerging flux, they appear to have sighted reduced in dynamism. The Major Flare Watch shall remain active for a further 24 hours while these regions continue to produce a large number of flares - attention should be paid to NOAA 13976 and the surrounding 13977 and 13978. Additional C-class activity is expected with a slight chance for an isolated >M5.0 event in the next 24-48 hours.
The position of NOAA 13976 on 02-February-2025 at 08:30 UT is:
N13E09, (-148", 318") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
