Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has increased to a low-to-medium level since the last message. A new region emerged early 2/20 in the Northeast quadrant grew rapidly and produced 2 M class flares (M3.4 at 12:05 UT and M1.4 at 14:31 UT both on 2/21).
Yesterday's target NOAA 13996 has quieted since the last message with no flare record, while NOAA 13998, the target of 2/19 increased in area but dropped delta configuration (now classified as a beta-gamma type).
Today, we will observe the new target (yet unnumbered) in the Northeast quadrant for the next 24 hours, expecting additional C to M class activity.
The position of the target on 21-February-2025 at 16:30 UT is: N16E10 (-174", 378").
