Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is now at a high level. The largest event since the last message was an X2.3 flare at 08:50 UT yesterday (12/08), produced by NOAA 13912 (S06W66). At this time, we are implementing the Major Flare Watch campaign on this region. 13912 also produced an M1.5 plus six C-class flares in the period but has been downgraded to a beta/D-type magnetic configuration. Yesterday's target NOAA 13917 (S07E06) produced five low-to-mid C-class flares in the period and was also downgraded to a beta/D-type magnetic configuration. Further C- and low M-class activities are expected, with a chance of major flares (>M5) in the coming days.
The position of NOAA 13912 on December 9 at 08:30 UT is:
S06W66 (886",-100")
