Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a very low level. NOAA region 12778 has rotated over the South West limb and target region NOAA 12779 is currently approaching the same limb location. At the start of the UT day NOAA 12779 was classed as a beta/B-type sunspot group, but would have been significantly foreshortened at the time due to proximity to the limb. Several B-class flares have occurred in the past 24 hours from where NOAA 12778 and 12779 are located at the South West limb, the largest being a B9.7 flare on 1-Nov-2020 at 15:43 UT. Further B-class activity is likely in the next 24-hour period.
The position of NOAA 12779 on 1-Nov-2020 at 18:00 UT is:
S16W82 , ( 920", -275" )
