Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has increased slightly in the last 24 hours. The largest event was a long duration C5.6 flare at 16:18 UT yesterday produced by the target region NOAA 14334. It also produced a ~C3 flare and has been classified as a beta/D-type magnetic configuration. Today the target shall continue as 14334. In addition, NOAA 14336 has retained a beta-gamma-delta/E-type sunspot group with an increase in its spot area, but only produced several low-C flares for several days, . Additional C-class flares are expected in the following 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 14334 on 9-Jan-2026 12:30 UT is:
S16W13 (211", -206")
