Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has continued at a low to moderate level. Several flares were produced, the largest being an M2.1 from NOAA 13854 at 16:07 UT yesterday. NOAA 13854 has shown signs of dynamic sunspot behaviour and exists in close proximity to NOAA 13852. NOAA 13854 is classified as a beta-gamma type region. Given the dormant nature of NOAA 13848, the Major Flare Watch is ending at this time and the target region is now switched to NOAA 13854. Further C- and M-class activity is expected in the next 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 13854 on 12-October-2024 at 11:30 UT is:
S04E13, (-216",-165")
