Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has remained stable over the past 24 hours. The largest event since the last message was a C3.3 flare at 19:48 UT yesterday from NOAA 14180. This region has been classified as a beta/C-type magnetic configuration with the emergence of new negative magnetic fluxes in its leading portion in the period. Today, NOAA 14180 should become the new default target. Yesterday’s target NOAA 14172 has almost rotated out of Earth-view, producing only three ~C1 flares. More C-class activity is expected in the following 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 14180 on 18-Aug-2025 at 11:30 UT is:
S03W18 (293", -156")
