Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has remained at an intermediate level over the past 24 hours. The largest event was an eruptive C9.9 flare at 11:43 UT today from an unnumbered region beyond the South East limb (S17E88). The target region NOAA 13961 has decayed further but produced two >C5 flares, including its largest - a C8.0 flare at 16:27 UT yesterday. 13961 was stable in the classification as a beta-gamma/E-type, with its following spots fragmenting. Today the target shall continue as NOAA 13961. Further C-class activity is expected, with a chance for a low-M flare in the subsequent 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 13961 on 24-Jan-2025 at 12:30 UT is:
S10W55 (787", -116")
