Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has decreased to an intermediate level since the last message. NOAA 13961 produced the largest event - a C9.2 flare at 01:56 UT today. This region has retained a beta-gamma/E-type magnetic configuration and experienced significant flux emergence ahead of its leader spot. Today the target shall switch to NOAA 13961 due to its high magnetic complexity and overall size of 700 μh. Yesterday’s target NOAA 13967 (S16W09, beta/C-type) remains quiescent. Further C-class activity is expected, with an isolated low-M flare likely in the coming 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 13961 on 23-Jan-2025 at 12:30 UT is:
S10W42 (644", -102")
