Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity continues at a very low level. The largest event since the last message was a C4.4 flare from a newly emerged region (S23W29). The most flare-productive region during the period was NOAA 14043 (N14W77, beta/D-type). This region, approaching the West limb, produced six low C-class flares. The target region NOAA 14048 (S16E07) retains a beta-gamma configuration and produced only a C1.8 flare during the period. At this time, we are ending the Major Flare Watch but continuing to watch NOAA 14048 as the target region, due to its magnetic complexity and continued flux emergence. Further C-class activity is expected over the next 24 hours, with a slight chance for an isolated M-class event.
The position of NOAA 14048 on 4-Apr-2025 at 11:30 UT is:
S16E07 (-112",-162")
