Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has been at a moderate level since the X1.9 event yesterday from NOAA 13873. The largest event in the past 24 hours was an M2.9 flare at 11:57 UT yesterday (10/26) from an unnumbered region on the Northeast limb. This region produced two more M class flares and a few high-C class flares during the long decay phase of the X flare.
The target region, NOAA 13873 only produced a high C class flare at 18:04 UT on 10/26, but increased magnetic complexity to a beta-gamma type. We will continue the Major Flare Watch campaign for another 24 hours with NOAA 138773, in the Southeast area of mixed polarities. An isolated M class flare or larger is expected.
The position of the target in NOAA 13873 on 27-October-2024 at 15:30 UT is: S12E41 (-629",-259").
