Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has been at a moderate-to-low level since the last message. The largest event in the period was an M1.1 flare at 22:35 UT yesterday, produced by a southwest limb region NOAA 13939 (S20W88). Additionally, NOAA 13950 (S18E17, alpha/H-type) produced a C9.8 flare at 06:29 UT today. The target region NOAA 13947 (N12W02) produced only three low C-class flares in the period, although it retains a beta-gamma-delta configuration. At this time, we are ending the Major Flare Watch campaign, but NOAA 13947 shall remain the target region, due to its magnetic complexity and activity history. Further C-class activity is expected, with a chance of low M-class flares in the next 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 13947 on 8-Jan-2025 at 08:30 UT is:
N12W02 (33",267")
