Dear RHESSI Collaborators,
The level of solar activity is low. NOAA region 11944 has maintained a beta-gamma-delta/F-type sunspot group classification over the past 24 hours. This region has also maintained spot area coverage through several smaller spots coalescing into larger, more mature spots. NOAA 11944 produced 3 C-class flares since yesterday's message (the largest being a C7.1 on 6-Jan-2014 at 00:08 UT). However, the X-ray background and flare magnitude/frequency is generally decreasing. Further C-class activity is expected over the next 24 hours, with a reasonable chance for a mid M-class flare and a small chance for an X-class flare.
The position of NOAA 11944 on 6-Jan-2014 at 16:00 UT is:
S09E16, ( -269", -94" )
