Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a low level. Target region NOAA 13191 has grown in spot area since the last message but decreased in its magnetic complexity to be designated as a beta/D-type sunspot group. This region has been flare-quiet in the period. Nearby region NOAA 13192 has increased in spot area and overall size to be classified as a beta-gamma/F-type sunspot group, and was the source of two C-class events - the largest being a C9.4 on 17-Jan-2023 at 00:02 UT that was also the largest flare in the period. The target switches to NOAA 13192. More C-class flares are expected over the next 24 hours, with a chance for an isolated M-class flare.
The position of NOAA 13192 on 17-Jan-2023 at 16:00 UT is:
N19E31 , ( -480", 383" )
