Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity continues to be at a low level. The largest event in the past 24 hours was a C4.2 flare at 10:41 UT on 2/19 from NOAA 13997 located near central meridian. NOAA 13990, a large sigmoid region in the Western hemisphere produced 2 C3 class flares on 2/19.
The target region, NOAA 13998 has somewhat quieted, having produced no flare events for more than 36 hours. However, it maintains magnetic configuration of a beta-delta type and showing new flux emergence with sunspot motion. We will continue to observe NOAA 13998 at the region of flux emergence for the next 24 hours. Several C class events are expected.
The position of the target in NOAA 13998 on 19-February-2025 at 16:30 UT is: S12E31 (-493", -116").
