MM#009 Default Target
Dear Collaborators,
Deep solar minimum conditions continue. The visible solar disk is spotless, plageless and would be featureless except for a couple of weak small filaments. The high-latitude southern polar zone filament target is no longer visible in H-alpha images. The target will switch to a filament that recently appeared located in the northwestern quadrant. The filament is currently in a quiescent stable phase. No solar flare activity expected anytime soon.
The approximate position of the target on July 16 at 06:15 UT is: N33W27 (Solar X = 361", Solar Y = 460")
See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
