Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a moderate-high level. An X1.8 flare was produced from NOAA 13848 at 01:25 UT today. NOAA 13848 is classified as a beta-gamma-delta now with a sunspot area of 600 μh. This region contains a substantial leading spot, however the behaviour of this region is relatively stable. This region does show signs of significant flux. At this time we are extending the Major Flare Watch and switching the target region to NOAA 13848. Further C- and M-class activity is likely, with a chance for further >M5 activity in the next 24-48 hours.
The position of NOAA 13848 on 9-October-2024 at 11:30 UT is:
N12W18, (291",101")
