Dear Collaborators,
The only spot on the visible solar disk today is a single A-type/alpha located at N13E51. The filament located along and south of the main magnetic inversion line in NOAA 2853 was active for several hours and the southern portion disappeared by 13:30 UT today. The filament may reappear in the same position after awhile. 2853 was the source of several minor A-type events and a B1.1 event at 08/12/04:40 UT. Minor A- and B-class events possible in the next 24 hour period.
The position of NOAA 2853 on August 12 at 14:00 UT is: N25E17 (Solar X = -252", Solar Y = 306")
