Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity is at a low level. The target region has now been designated as NOAA 12859 and classified as a beta/C-type sunspot group. NOAA 12859 has continued to produce multiple B-class flares since the last message as well as three C-class flares, the largest of which was a C1.9 on 22-Aug-2021 at 10:16 UT. Further B-class flares are expected over the next 24 hours, with a good chance for low-to-mid C-class flares.
The position of NOAA 12859 on 22-Aug-2021 at 22:00 UT is:
N20E60 , ( -774", 269" )
