Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has slightly increased since the last message. Several flares were produced, the largest being an M1.7 at 19:41 UT yesterday from NOAA 13977. NOAA 13976, 13977, and 13978 appear clustered in the northeast quadrant and show signs of notable flux as they move further onto the disk. NOAA 13977 is now classified as a beta-gamma region and shall be the new target region. Further C-class activity is likely with the chance for further isolated low M-class events.
The position of NOAA 13977 on 29-January-2025 at 12:30 UT is:
N19E60, (-798", 362") See http://www.SolarMonitor.org for images and http://solar.physics.montana.edu/max_millennium/ops/observing.shtml for a description of the current Max Millennium Observing Plan.
