Dear Collaborators,
Solar activity has significantly increased since the M7.2 event yesterday(10/30). After this event, NOAA 13878 produced 3 low-M class (M1.0 at 2:16 UT, another M1.0 at 3:23 UT and M1.4 at 9:22 UT all on 10/31) as well as a few high-C class flares. Other notable events are an M2.4 flare from NOAA 13875 at 12:41 UT and an M1.2 flare from NOAA 13876 at 13:46 UT today.
We will continue to observe NOAA 13878 as the target of the Major Flare Watch campaign. The magnetic configuration of this region was updated to a beta-gamma-delta type. We will observe the area of delta configuration (west side of the trailing sunspot) for the next 24 to 48 hours, expecting additional M class flares and larger.
The position of the target in NOAA 13878 on 31-October-2024 at 16:30 UT is: N15E30 (-474", 197").
