Dear Collaborators,
The level of solar activity has increased slightly. The largest event since the last message was a C4.0 flare at 07:45 UT today from NOAA 14323. This region also produced three ~C2 flares. It retained a beta/D-type sunspot group, displaying the magnetic signs of decay. Yesterday’s target, NOAA14325 (S08W69, beta/E-type), also has experienced a further decay and became quiescent during this period. Today, the target shall switch to 14323 from 14325. Note that NOAA 14336 (S09E61, beta/E-type) also produced a low-C flare, with new spots emerging in its intermediate portion. More low-C activity is expected in the next 24 hours.
The position of NOAA 14323 on 6-Jan-2026 08:30 UT is:
S16W61 (821", -240")
